Mechanism of Chims-vest

In the study of acupoints in oriental medicine, the acupoints on the chest and back are related with mental disorder such as palpation of the chest, pain, sleeping disorder, depression, anxiety, panic, sociophonia, and others.

According to Dr. Travell, the personal physician of John F. Kennedy, tension in the muscles on the chest, ‘trigger point,’ generate imbalanced pulse of the heart, leading to arrhythmia or pain on the chest.

When symptoms are neurotic, muscles and acupoints on the chest generate light or electricity. When this light or electricity is re-sent to the muscles and acupoints, the chest will relax, and the function of the heart will normalize. Normalization of organs will balance the discharges of neurotransmitters, and therefore symptoms that are generated from imbalance of neurotransmitters will dissipate. In other words, neurotransmitters from brain nerves could be controlled from the normalization of the movement of organs by the stimulation of acupoints and muscles on various parts of the body.

The result of this treatment shows similarity with other means of calming the nerves such as meditation or exercise. For instance, when one meditates, one’s body relaxes and calms down organs. When one exercises, heart is stimulated, affecting the amount of neurotransmitters from brain nerves.

< A novel Taping Therapy for Chronic Insomnia: A report on Two Cases> has been published in Complementary Therapies in Medicine (CTIM), and has been published in Journal: Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment.'

The clinician came to invent Chims-vest after hearing people’s complaints of applying Chimsband on the chest, where Chimsband often falls off due to the hair on the chest. Other than the fact that there is no need to put on and take off the sticky Chimsband on a daily basis, Chims-vest is a great appliance for chronic diseases that might recur over a period of time. It is appropriate for patients with neurotic symptoms, which have the high probability of recurring especially when one is under a lot of stress. Chims-vest is a washable product that can be used as long as the product is undamaged.

Chims-vest can be worn like a regular vest, except that the product must be in direct contact with the skin. It is convenient to wear while sleeping. Once neurotransmitters gain rebalance, other diseases that are generated from the imbalance of neurotransmitters such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, will also naturally be treated.

General process of treatment of neurotic symptoms via Chims-vest

People who are treated with Chimsband and Chims-vest go through the following cycle, which is the process of restoring the balance of neurotransmitters.

First, the quality of sleep improves. The patient who would have normally suffered from neck and shoulder tension will experience a more relaxed status of the body.

Second, the relaxation of body leads to relieving of other neurotic symptoms such as anxiety or palpitation of heart. Reaching this stage usually takes up to 2 months.

Third, there is improvement in severe neurotic symptoms such as panic disorder, depression or obsessive compulsive neurosis, in which essential tremor also halts. Reaching this stage usually takes up 3-4 months.

1. I don’t understand how “withdrawal” or “rebound” works.

Treatment with Chimsband has a goal of balancing neurotransmitters, which have similar characteristics as drugs. If one’s body were habituated to the use of drugs for a long time, her body would have certain reactions when she stops taking drugs. Likewise, there might be withdrawal or rebound of symptoms temporarily in the process for the body of returning to normal status. In Eastern medicine, this withdrawal/rebound is called “Myung-Hyun.” When Myung-hyun occurs, it is said that the root of the illness is eradicated.

Withdrawal/rebound means the body may experience reappearance of symptoms from the past. This usually manifests in form of bodily pain (without fever) or more worsened version of current symptom(s).

During the treatment, almost every patient who is recovering will experience withdrawal/rebound. However, once neurotransmitters are re-balanced, the patient will almost immediately experience a significant improvement of the condition of the body. In general, the period of withdrawal/rebound lasts for around 10 days, but it may be longer for patients who have had the illness for a long time. At times, withdrawal/rebound occurs over 2-3 times, in which then withdrawal/rebound tends to be milder.

2. How shall I deal with withdrawal/rebound?

Such reactions, which can be quite intense, usually last for 7-10 days before disappearing. The reactions can be treated either with analgesic drugs or Chimsband. Applying Chimsband will significantly subdue the pain. For instance, if one experiences withdrawal/rebound while wearing Chims-vest, she the person can apply Chimsband to parts of the body where there is pain.
